If we haven’t officially met yet, I am Michael Bungay Stanier. You might know me from my best-selling books, The Coaching Habit or How to Begin. But Change Signal is unlike any of my books or courses. It’s an ongoing conversation of thinking out loud, staying curious and getting real about lead change (that actually works!)
Because let’s be honest: change management hasn’t kept up with well… change (the irony!), and I’m frustrated. You likely are too, otherwise you wouldn’t be here.
Most of what’s out there is outdated and dull. Or delivered by expensive consultants giving you the run around with crappy models and shot-in-the-dark practices that don’t hold up in the real world.
Change Signal was born out of the need for contemporary, useful, and practical insights that support change leaders.
Like you, I’ve had some wins — helping shift culture inside enterprise-level organizations, seeing ideas come to life, and tuning into how momentum is built. But I’ve had my fair share of flops (one day I’ll tell you the story of “the worst whisky ever invented”).
But through it all, I’ve stayed curious about what it takes to move organizations upwards and make change stick.

About Me

Here’s a little background on myself:
I’ve been in the world of change, growth and transformation for over thirty years.
I started in the world of innovation and creativity, doing product development. It didn't take long for me to get deeply frustrated with our small agency’s great new ideas suffering slow, suffocating deaths in our client organizations. Sound familiar?
That frustration led me to become a change consultant. I’ve been through it all - the mergers, culture changes, digital transformations, and organizational restructuring.
I’ve accumulated the usual stories and scars of the good, the bad and the baffling.
Change Signal is what I wish I had when I first started this work.
It’s the result of decades of change experience, hundreds of conversations, and thousands of hours of practice. More than that, it’s generated a genuine desire to figure out how we can make change better, together.
